Wednesday Recap

If anyone takes notes or has a good memory. I think it would be great if we could post some sort of recap from each week to keep everyone on the same page.

Here's a little bit of what I wrote down last night. Please add on more commentary from last night. These are just notes I jotted down:
1 Timothy 4

Paul came in when their actions were not in step with the Gospel.
verse 4 - the word 'for' refers to all things that the deceiving are saying are wicked
-giving food or whatever you decide for Lent is so on Easter you can celebrate that Christ is risen
-The Word and prayer should never be separated--you pray through the Word
-Everything is already holdy-a priest doesn't make the gifts holy through communion but we pray to remind ourselves that they are holy gifts from God. The same should apply for everything in your life. Ex: getting to play video games as we in prayer are thankful of those things.
-We need to check our hearts and match them to the Word of God
-We are laboring & striving to figure out answer but in the end we have to take a step back and let God answer the questions.
-When we are holy then what? Why are we striving for this holiness?
---you strive to relieve pressure but that's not how the Gospel works. The closer you become like Christ, the more you realize how bad your sin is.

Prayer Requests:
Emma-praise because she bonded with girls at work; tension released and they connected.
Steve - Jeff (Molly & Jenny's brother) and his AP Biology test.
Steven- praise and pray. lump in finger but nothing serious!
Emily P. and Jenna as they are traveling.
Praise for Ben's roommate, Walter because he passed his test
Kelli - pray for the rest of the school year and for a student that has been a challenge.
Leslie - prayer her sister learned from classmate and that she stays safe and is smart during graduation weekend.
